Gilbert Leadership, a program of the Gilbert Chamber Foundation, is now accepting applications through Saturday, July 8. Gilbert residents and community leaders are encouraged to apply for the program’s 26th class.
Applicant interviews will begin later this month for this unique opportunity that brings together individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences to unlock their true leadership potential. As a program of the Gilbert Chamber Foundation, Gilbert Leadership aims to develop the town’s current and future leaders. It also gives participants the chance to achieve personal growth while gaining a new perspective on their community.
Gilbert Leadership is proud of their twenty-five years of encouraging people to have an active, effective role in their community. By providing structured leadership learning programs, participants can broaden their horizons and learn to initiate, develop, and deliver local initiatives and projects. The program creates and extends a network of local leaders that encourage community togetherness and volunteering, and there are excellent opportunities for networking and personal growth.
“As we begin our 26th class, it’s exciting to see how this premier leadership program moves forward with the continued growth of Gilbert,” said Brigette Peterson, Gilbert Town Councilwoman, Gilbert Leadership Board President, and a Class VII Graduate. “One thing that remains consistent is the friendships that are forged from being part of a class. I always say that the program teaches you as much about yourself as it does about Gilbert.”
Class members meet for full-day sessions once a month for ten months, during which they participate in a series of local tours and work as a team to select, organize and execute a class service project benefitting the community.
Enrollment is limited to thirty people who live or work in Gilbert. Candidates should possess a commitment to community involvement and improvement, as well as personal growth.
