
Officials in Tucson have released new details surrounding a fatal shooting on the 4th of July.
According to the Tucson Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located at 1039 North Alamo Avenue around 5 p.m. on Wednesday. When they arrived to the scene on the city’s east side, they found 56-year-old Gregory Walters, who called 911 to report he had shot his neighbor following a short altercation. Walters was arrested immediately and he told officers the incident occurred in his apartment. When officers went inside, they found Wade Lockwood, 53, on the floor with obvious gunshot wounds.
During their investigation, detectives determine that Lockwood had been visiting Walters in his apartment prior to the shooting. Walters faces second degree murder charges and remains in Pima County Jail.
