Local Foodie Review
Baja Café is known in the Tucson area for its many delicious and baja-style cuisines. This family-owned restaurant is somewhat new to Tucson, opening in 2014 and having two locations: one on Campbell and a second on Broadway. With the variety of menu options, from numerous versions of egg benedict to delicious pancakes and huevos rancheros, there is something for everyone. On top of that, the prices are unbeatable, especially for those on a budget, with prices ranging from $6-$14.
As a college student eating my way through Tucson, this is definitely my favorite restaurant around town, with the prices being so low and the food being so delicious. The vibes of the restaurant are very welcoming, with an open kitchen for the curious kids and adults who enjoy watching the cooks create your food. The restaurant is also a big advocate for local artists, offering diners a visual treat with the opportunity to purchase any of the local artwork tastefully displayed on the walls.
One of my favorite things to order off the menu is the snickerdoodle pancake! Honestly, if you leave this establishment without a snickerdoodle pancake you have done yourself an injustice. Another fan favorite is the breakfast burrito or the endless varieties of egg benedict. The specials on the other hand are to die for, each day being different than the next. There is always something new and exciting to try on the menu, which is a big plus for me, judging by the amount of times I eat there monthly.
Overall, this restaurant has it all: mimosas, delicious food, great people, spacious seating, fun environment and family friendly! It is a great place to cure that Sunday morning hangover or catch up with family and friends, it is one that is highly recommended in my book.
