Looking for a fun way to celebrate Veteran’s Day with the whole family on Friday, November 11th? Most children have the day off from school and would likely enjoy the 2016 East Valley Veterans Parade being held that Friday in downtown Mesa. The parade is free and will feature a long list of entries honoring our veterans such as the Desert Sounds Drum Corp, the East Valley Model T Ford Club of America, the Higley High School Marching Knights, Mesa High School Marching Band, the Mesa Police Department Honor Guard, Navy Seabee Veterans of America, many local boy and girl scout troops and veterans groups.
A pre-parade program starts at 10:15 a.m. and the parade starts at 11:00 a.m.. The parade route begins on Center Street at University, goes south on Center to 1st Street, turns west on 1st Street & goes to Robson. Click here for a map of the parade route.
The parade honors veterans, active military and their families and features over 100 entries including the Fallen Soldiers Memorial flags, JROTCs, bands, military vehicles & dignitaries. For more info, visit evvp.org, or call 480-684-2324.
