Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlor Barman Releases New Book o’ Cocktails

How do you serve up hundreds of classic and contemporary cocktails , including dozens of never-seen-before creations, and make your drinks menu fun, informative and never intimidating?

 Introduction:

If you’re Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlor‘s proprietor & head barman, Ross Simon, you create an illustrated 32-page Book o’ Cocktails, and then change the inspiration and design annually. Hitting barstools on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, this 4th annual Book o’ Cocktails features a fairytale theme, like an adult’s-only children’s book. Kids of all ages (provided they’re 21 and over) will enjoy flipping through page after page of whimsical drink descriptions, as well as spot the many cheeky Easter eggs for cocktail enthusiasts sprinkled throughout the colorful custom artwork by illustrator, Matt Andrews.

 Table of Contents:

Hand-written by Simon (2016 Tales of the Cocktail nominee & Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame recipient), the B&T Book o’ Cocktails is broken down in easily digestible sections such as:

  • Let’s Get Cookin’: Nine brand-new cocktail showcasing B&T’s array of cocktail know how, house made ingredients and cutting-edge preparations.
  • Bitter Hall Of Fame: Four years of all-time favorites! These are some of the bar’s most popular, original cocktails that just can’t be put out to pasture.
  • Martini and His Bastards: Cocktails featuring B&T’s Flawless Martini, the coldest bottle-blended martini in existence.
  • Plus 11 More

Chapters 1 – 4:

According to Simon, “This year’s Book o’ Cocktails was inspired by classic childhood fairytales and stories, so each menu section subtly represents different children’s book writing styles, from toddler all the way through to more advanced young adult books. We also brought back popular sections such as cocktails drawn from creative bartenders from around the globe that we very humbly call our, Friends With Benefits, as well as our graph-based Cocktail Map, so guests can choose their own cocktail adventure by playing it safe or drinking on the wild side. Finally, for guests who just want to order a drink without going through the entire menu, the Top 10 section features our best-selling cocktails.”

Appendices (select all-new cocktails):

Rum D.M.C.

Banks 5 Island rum is shaken with dark rum, lime, guava, cinnamon and grapefruit which combinate into a very tasty treat. Completed with house made passion fruit foam, served frappe.

Déjà Cold Brew

This fun play on coffee & tonic water applies fresh strawberries to the mix along with Luxardo Espresso, our house vermouth blend and cold brew. Aztec bitters are added to finish the unique and notable tipple.

Taste The Rainbow

House-infused kaffir lime gin is added to sloe gin and fresh lime, pineapple and strawberry. We then shake it to wake it up and create a memorable good time reminiscent of childhood.
