Press Coffee Roasters to Open New Locations in Tempe and Phoenix

Press Coffee Roasters continues to lead the way in Arizona’s specialty coffee scene with the opening of two new locations this Spring. The roaster will open a flagship store in the hub of Downtown Phoenix at Central and McDowell in May. Shortly after, Press will open a second Tempe spot east of the ASU campus. The stores will be the fifth and sixth locations for Press.

Press Coffee in Downtown Phoenix will be at the Muse apartment development at 1616 N. Central Ave. The 2,000-square-foot cafe will offer an expanded menu including beer and wine and feature a learning space where Press plans to offer its popular Coffee 101 tastings and other events.

“We’re excited to bring our nearly 10 years of knowledge and passion for specialty coffee to Downtown Phoenix,” said Steve Kraus, owner of Press Coffee. “The light rail and walkability of the area have helped the coffee scene in Downtown Phoenix thrive and we’re looking forward to being a part of this diverse and growing community of coffee lovers.”

Press’ second Tempe location will be a 1,300-square-foot space at the Nexa apartments (1221 E. Apache Blvd.). It is expected to open in June. Press is currently hiring to fill barista and management positions for both locations. Applications can be submitted at any Press Coffee (airport excluded).

Press Coffee currently has four Valley locations as well as a 5,500-square-foot roasting facility in Phoenix where it produces nearly 3,500 pounds of specialty coffee a week.

“Our expanded roastery has giving us the capacity to grow alongside our wholesale accounts like Luci’s Healthy Marketplace and Grand Canyon University. It also lets us showcase and educate the community about specialty coffee” said Kraus. The public is welcome to join Press at its Roaster Cuppings every Friday at 10 a.m. Advance notice is requested by emailing roaster@presscoffee.com.

“Our Downtown Phoenix cafe is designed with education and events in mind so we can continue to build on what we offer at the roastery,” said Kraus.

Press has been Phoenix’ local coffee roaster since 2008. It shares its passion for specialty coffee by providing the highest quality coffee products, service and knowledge with customers and community every day. Named Phoenix’ best roaster two years running, Press Coffee has four Valley locations in Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix and Chandler.
