A local company is helping Valley nonprofits take the stress out of auction management at their fundraising events this year. Blue Leaf Estate Auctions is donating free auctioneer services to 12 charity events.
Blue Leaf co-owner Rowlan Hill has been an auctioneer for more than 30 years and brought the hammer down at some of the Valley’s most notable events.
“This is a chance for us to give back to the community by helping worthwhile causes focus on what they do best: raising awareness and support for their efforts,” he said.
Blue Leaf will donate auctioneer services for 12 events this year. To be considered, they ask nonprofits to contact them with details about their events at least three months in advance. If the events need more than an auctioneer, Blue Leaf can also provide clerical services for managing silent auctions and payments at the selected events. Clerical management rates start at $500 and are dependent on the scope of the project. In exchange for the donation, Blue Leaf only asks for recognition on the event website, in the program and at the event as well as event seating.
Hill has lead live auctions in some of Arizona’s top fundraisers like the Best Buddies Spirit of Friendship Gala and The Arizona Pet Project Hero Awards. He knows supporters are there not just there to bid, but for the show, too.
“It’s so much fun being a part of our community this way,” he said. “It’s a nice balance to the work we do with our weekly estate sales.”
